Welcome to the Provo High Class Of 1960 website. Our 50th reunion will take place on Friday and Saturday, July 2 and 3, 2010. We hope you will attend! Until then, help us find "lost" classmates. Write remarks about classmates who have passed on.  Upload information about your life, family, kids, etc.  Please upload photos, too.  Hey, we all look like our grandparents.  Get over it!  The following is the latest information on the planning of our 50th reunion.

                                                 Current Report November 9, 2009

PHS Class of 1960 50th Reunion

July 2-3, 2010

Friday Night Dinner:  The dinner/dance will begin at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 2, 2010 at the Academy Square ballroom. Graduates will arrive and meet other graduates in a greeting line. After dinner, we will visit and dance, too, if we wish. The music trio will be relatively quiet so that we can visit without blowing out our hearing aids. The event will end at 10 p.m.  We will clean and vacate the ballroom before 11 p.m. to retain our deposit.

Saturday Golf and Picnic:  The golf tournament and picnic will take place next day, Saturday, July 3, 2010, at Hobble Creek in Springville.  The picnic will be nearby at Pavilion #2 in Rotary Park.

1.  Dinner Menu:  Doc Hansen has reserved a buffet meal from Provo’s “Marvelous Catering” featuring beef or chicken plus potatoes, vegetables, salad, rolls and butter and desert selections served on “Chinet” plates with heavy plastic utensils.

2.  Academy Square Ballroom:  Doc Hansen made a $300 reservation deposit on behalf of the committee to the Provo City Library (Adi James–(801)  852 7691) as part of the total cost of $850, which includes AV equipment, a player piano, tables, chairs.  We must vacate the ballroom by 11 p.m.

3.  Decorations:  Kathy Ostler Fryer’s committee will meet at the Academy Square ballroom on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. to begin planning. Contact Kathy if you want to be on the decoration committee.

4.  Name Tags:  Susan Field Walles will prepare pre-printed easy-to-read large tags. She may ask for assistance from other graduates.

5.  Our Web Site: www.provohigh1960.com  To eliminate the costs of a booklet, we created this site where graduates (with the help of their grandkids) can upload photos and information, if they wish. The cost is $97 for one year and is renewable.  The registered domain name www.provohigh1960.com cost $36 for two years.  We will probably renew this website to stay in touch.  This site was activated on 11/12/09.  It will take some time to upload the names of all of the PHS 1960 graduates.  Many grads do not have email addresses, unfortunately.

6.  Golf Tournament: Wayne Clarke, Paul Coon, Glee Zumbrennen and Jim Griffiths have chosen Hobble Creek in Springville for the golf tournament on Saturday, July 3, 2010. Permanent reservations will be made in January 2010 with Sonny Braun, Head Pro for the golf tournament.  Registrations and money for the golf tournament will be collected separately.

7.  Picnic:  The picnic will begin around 11 a.m. at the Rotary Park, Pavilion #2. Reservations will be made in January with Teresa at 801 489 2770 (Springville.) Grads can bring their own food or order a box lunch from Kneader's for about $15.

8.  Music:  Kathy Davis Allman has hired the “Ken Foster Trio” to play requests from six to ten p.m. for those who choose to dance. Cost for four hours of live music is $500. The trio will play requests.

9.  Lists:  Bob Valentine (ryv@me.com) has compiled a list of graduates. Contact Bob if you are curious about old friends .  Deceased graduates are listed on this site.  You may add comments about them, if you wish. This site also contains a list of "lost" graduates for whom we have NO address.  If you know the whereabouts of any of these classmates, let us know!

10.   After Dinner Soiree.  PHS 1960 graduates have been invited to Jeff Brook’s Riverside condo to visit and imbibe, if they wish, after the dinner/dance ends at 10 p.m. Jeff’s condo address: 2729 Country Club Drive, Provo, Utah. Thanks, Jeff! You do not have to be a consumer of adult beverages to attend Jeff's soiree.

11.  Next Official Committee Meeting:  Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Bob Valentine’s home in Highland.  We will stuff envelopes for the first official mailing to all graduates to requesti early registrations and donations!  We need to collect funds now.  The mailing will contain separate registrations for:

15.  Theme for the 50th reunion?   How about “Friends Forever”  or "Reconnect." Other suggestions?  By the way, committee member Burt Robbins has put together a wonderful DVD presentation using old PHS pictures!  It will be shown at the dinner/dance.  Do you have any interesting PHS photos or high school memorabilia to display at the reunion next July?

 16.   Provo High Class of 1960 Get-Together activities BEFORE the reunion.  We have already had fun luncheons in Provo and St. George where we met with graduates who looked like their grandparents.  Check the announcements on this site for future casual get-togethers in Provo, Salt Lake and St. George.  Once you log on to this site, you will be able to have access to the available information about other classmates.  Please help us complete this information.  Do not hesitate to email Bob Valentine with corrections, updates and other information you have about our classmates!
