Ron Brown

April 26, 1942 — November 29, 2022

 

Our beloved Homer Ronald "Ron" Brown went to heaven after living a wonderful life on November 29, 2022. He was born to Homer Holland Brown and Orva Norma Hunt on April 26, 1942 in Portsmouth, Virginia. He lived in Virginia, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oregon, California, Cuba, and Utah.

Ron was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a missionary in the Northern California Mission, Counselor in the Bishopric, Stake Mission President, High Priest Group Leader, Home Teacher, and Sunday School Teacher. He served in the Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club, as the Podiatry Chief of Staff for Alta View Hospital, and as a baseball coach for many, many years.

He married his sweetheart Lori Brewer on October 9, 1970, in the Salt Lake City Temple. They met in San Francisco, California while he attended the San Francisco California School of Podiatric Medicine. Before podiatry school he graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Microbiology. He practiced podiatry for 46 years with the majority of those years in Taylorsville, Utah. His life's focus was family, hard work, and service. 

He prioritized family trips and his attendance of his children's activities, concerts, baseball games, etc . . . before all other commitments. He volunteered once a week at nursing homes in the community to care for senior people's feet. His unforgettable sense of humor and personality helped him manage life and establish cherished lifelong friendships and colleagues.

He is survived by his wife: Lori Ruth Brewer Brown; daughters, Jani Brown (grandchildren Ethan, Emma, Aaron, Adam); Emili Gardner (grandchildren Trace, Madison (deceased), Tyson, and Brighton); and son, Jared Brown (Becca) (grandchildren Mykah Shupe, Cierra Clements, and Jane). He had three sisters: Charlene Isakson (deceased), Sharon Wightman (deceased) and Patricia (Dave) Barnhart.

He is preceded in death by his daughter Stefani Mae; and granddaughter Madison Lori Gardner.

He will be missed!

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at Taylorsville 16th Ward, 3495 West 4850 South, Taylorsville, Utah. Viewings will be held Tuesday, December 6th, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah, and again on Wednesday prior to services at the church from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Interment, Mountain View Memorial Cemetery.
