1942-2017

Wayne C. Shoell, age 75 of Provo, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, October 2, 2017 due to complications following surgery.

Wayne was born on June 20, 1942 in Provo, Utah to Howard B. and Zelpha Thorsen Shoell. Wayne married the love of his life, Dixie Lee Collard on June 1, 1961. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on January 7, 1966.

Wayne worked as a mechanic at Johnny’s Conoco, he owned and operated Wayne’s Y-Mount Conoco, and he managed the Provo BF Goodrich Tire Center and the ZCMI Auto Center in Orem. He also managed SS Marine in Orem, and worked as Corporate Security Director of Nu Skin Enterprises for many years.

Wayne was known for his honesty and integrity. He loved his wife and family dearly, and dedicated his life to serving them. Wayne served faithfully as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings throughout his life. His favorite calling was serving as the Stake Financial Clerk from 1995 until present.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and his son Steven Wayne Shoell. He is survived by two daughters, Pamela (Fritz) Espinoza, and Shauna Shoell. He has 8 grandchildren, Tyler (Megann) Espinoza, Nicholas, Calvin, and Jonathan Espinoza, Melissa (Jacob) McKenna, Brenan, Lindsay, and Matthew Shoell. He has 3 great-grandchildren, Logan Espinoza, Preston and Oliver McKenna.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the Grandview 4th Ward Chapel, 1081 West 1060 North, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 E. Center Street, Friday, October 6 from 6-8:00 p.m. and at the church Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be at the Orem City Cemetery. I exchanged emails with Wayne last February 2017.  His wife Dixie was having surgery for cancer.  Wayne was having some back problems.  He was retired.  RYV

The Daily Herald Obituary said that Wayne died of complications after surgery.  This was the photo posted in the Daily Herald obituary on October 6, 2017.
