Willard Duane Burge Jr. 1942 ~ 2011 Our beloved father, brother, grandfather and friend passed away July 3, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Duane was born June 26, 1942 in Provo, Utah to Willard Duane Burge Sr. and Ina Scott Burge.

He graduated from BYU in Mechanical Engineering. While attending BYU he met his sweetheart Cheryl Rae Morrison and was married in the Logan Temple. She preceded him in death in 2007. Duane and Cheryl lived in Riverton, Utah where they raised their children. He was a member of the Riverton 7th Ward and spent many hours serving in multiple capacities within the church. He especially enjoyed serving in the scouting program. Duane loved animals and would often bring home dogs that he had rescued. He also enjoyed the outdoors and looked forward to summer camping trips. Duane worked in the drafting field for several organizations and was very good at drawing. He would use these skills at home as well to draw ships and animals for his grandkids.

Survived by Mike (Mandy) of West Jordan, Brent (Kristine) of Riverton, Jason of Riverton, Mark (Amy) of Montezuma Creek, Kathy (Tou) Faletau of Riverton, Christine (Gene) Van Buskirk of West Valley; 21 grandchildren; also survived by sisters Shirley (Jerald) Coleman, Carol (Ted) Butterfield, Linda (John) Saxey, Louise (Glen) Perry and brother David (Collette), and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife Cheryl, his mother and father, brother Dale, and granddaughter, Sarah. The family would like to thank Dr. Jeffery Twitchell and his staff for the longtime care they provided for Duane and the many other physicians that were involved in his health.

Funeral services will be held Saturday July 9, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the Riverton 7th Ward Chapel, 12459 South 1855 West, Riverton. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 South 2200 West, Riverton and Saturday, one hour prior to services. Interment will be at the East Lawn Memorial Hills Cemetery, 4800 North Eastlawn Drive, Provo Utah.
