Douglas Giles Long died on May 21, 2004
The VFW honored Doug with Military Services at his graveside service on May 25th, 2004
Doug worked at Geneva until they closed. He lived at the Long ranch in South Fork of Provo Canyon. He loved his horses and the sheep he herded. After he sold the ranch in Provo Canyon he bought another one in Idaho. He subsequently bought a place in Central Utah and lived there until the end.
On the graveside services program, the following was written:
Some of Doug's Favorite Sayings:
"Take my advice, I'm not using it."
"I can solve your problems, I just can't solve mine."
"I'm ugly, but you abuse the privilege."
"The doctor told me I can't lift more than 12 oz."
"Do as I say, not as I do."
