Stanford Elementary

Torn from his birthplace Provo, Utah after kindergarten at Brigham Young Academy, little Robert Valentine was taken by his parents to Palo Alto, California for grades one through four at Stanford Elementary School on the Stanford campus, where Robert's father was teaching and earning his PhD.

His best friend in Palo Alto was Jimmy Finch (front row, fourth from right) and his first puppy love was Sharon Killingsworth (front row, third from right).

Robert is second from the left on the top row.  After the 4th grade, his parents took him to Buenos Aires, Argentina for the next four years.  In the Fall of 1956 Robert enrolled in Lincoln Jr. High in Orem and completed his sophomore year at Orem High.

Robert finally returned to Provo for his junior and senior years, where he felt once again at home.
