Obituary for Paul Brent Cochran

Paul Brent Cochran 81, of Mapleton, Utah passed away peacefully at Utah Valley Hospital, March 25, 2024. Brent was the third of four children born to Paul Scott Cochran and Elizabeth Cochran. He was born October 17, 1942, right before the end of World War II which helped shape his personality for the rest of his life.

He was always a tough go-getter who would tell you how he felt no matter what. Brent grew up in Provo where he and his friends had so much fun catching fish, building forts, hunting, or playing by the Provo River where they lived, or playing with his dog Champ. Brent attended school in Provo and graduated from Provo High School in 1960. Brent married Miriam Lamoreaux Cochran on February 3, 1963. Soon after they moved to Phoenix, Brent started working as an electrical contractor. In 1968, Brent moved his young family back from Phoenix and started his own business Cochran Electric, in Provo.

Brent was preceded in death by his father Paul Scott Cochran, his mother Elizabeth Cochran, his wife, Miriam Cochran and his three sisters Joyce Asay, Carolyn Donaldson, and (Julie) Jordan Alexander. Brent is survived by his three children Brett Cochran, Laina Norman, and Jason Cochran. He had 12 grandchildren and almost 20 great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the great nursing staff and hospice team from Utah Valley Hospital for the fine care they gave him in his final days.

Note:  Brent never joined PHS1960.
