Sharee Clayton Dunford, beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, departed on a heavenly journey on November 4, 2025. Born on April 18, 1942, in Provo, UT, Sharee lived a life marked by compassion, love, spirit, and humor. Her infectious laughter and heartwarming smile brought joy to everyone who knew her.
Sharee completed high school at Provo High and spent one year at LDS business college. She married William (Bill) Zabriskie and they had 4 children together: Kent (Erin), Kim (Gary), Kyle (Gloria), and Kurt (Joy). They divorced and she married John Dunford and was later divorced. Sharee's boundless love for her children, 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and her dedication to her career in Nutrition Services at Utah Valley Hospital as well as other retail service-oriented positions were a testament to her hard work and spirited and loving nature.
Many remember her for her enthusiasm in making cookies and doing crafts with her grandkids and the neighborhood children. Sharee was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings throughout her life. One of her recent favorite scriptures - “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” Mathew 11:28-30
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenner B. and Evelyn Clayton. Sharee had six siblings: Rex (deceased), Ann (Larry), Don (Marilyn), Virginia (Don), Dixie (Tom deceased), and Billy (Stephanie).
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, November 10, 2025, at the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center Street, Provo, Utah, 84606. The family will receive friends for a viewing at the mortuary on Monday, November 10 from 9:30 am to 10:45 am, prior to the service.
We encourage everyone who knew Sharee to honor her memory by sharing personal stories, photographs, and sentiments on her Memorial Page. Your shared memories will serve as a comforting reminder of the compassionate, loving, spirited, and funny woman we all cherished.
