Cecil Phil Lowe Obituary

Cecil Phil Lowe was born in Provo, Utah. He was the 6th of 8 children to Reed and Vilda Lowe. He was raised in Provo, Utah.

He attended Franklin Elementary, Dixon Jr. High, Central Jr. High and Provo High School. All in Provo, Utah. He enlisted in the US Navy and served as a Machinist Mate 2nd Class aboard the Destroyer USS Jenkins. He was classified as a Vietnam Vet, he was serving and out to sea for the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was honorably discharged.

He later was employed by the Tooele Army Depot, Tooele City police Department and retired from Pacific Sate Cast Iron Pipe Co. as a Foreman in the Pipe finishing Department with 30 years’ service.

He married Connie Swanner and had two children Cindy and Kevin. Later divorced and married the love of his life Donna Jo Tomlinson, later sealed in the Provo Temple, the family added Linda and Rex.

He was a member of the LDS church and served many callings.

He was a member of the American Legion, Provo Post 3

His passions consisted of hunting, camping, boating, and 4 wheeling, attending Reno Air Races and attending his Navy Reunions.

He is preceded in death by brothers Quinten and Everett, sisters Reedola, Maxine, and Nadine. Grandson Shawn and great granddaughter Lola Ann.

He is survived by his wife Donna, his brothers Floyd Lowe and Jim Lowe , Daughter Cindy (Steve) Garrett, Son Kevin Lowe, Daughter Linda (Ron Rollman), Son Rex (Anna) Tomlinson, 6 Grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday May 7, 2024 at 10:30 am in the Sunset 5th Ward chapel, 1402 South 570 West Provo Utah. Friends may visit with the family on Monday May 6, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home 85 East 300 South Provo or from 9:00-10:00 am at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
