Melanee (Mitchell) Meldrum died peacefully at home on October 3, 2015. She was born on October 8, 1942 to Rachel (Rowan) and Gordon C Mitchell. She was the oldest of four siblings that included Gordon, Gaylene (Johnson), and Charlie. She graduated from Provo High School in 1960.

Melanee served a stake mission while she waited for Larry Joe Meldrum to return from his mission. She married him in 1962 and together they had 6 children. She has 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many “adopted” children and grandchildren that she chose to bring into her heart and take as her own.

After Melanee had raised her family, she went back to school when she was 49 and received her two year degree in accounting at UVU. Graduating with honors. She was able to utilize this degree and worked for many years. Of those years, her favorite job was working for her sister Gaylene, which allowed her to work from home.

Melanee was a loving and compassionate soul. She was a woman of great faith in her Savior Jesus Christ. She served in many callings during the course of her life. She was a faithful and diligent woman to the end. Her heart and soul went into caring for her family, friends and neighbors. She loved to write stories and used this talent to write her personal history, which has brought to life the history of her parents, grandparents, siblings, etc.

Melanee is survived by her sister, Gaylene Johnson and her children Irene (Christensen), Mark, Lorraine (Dansie), Phillip and Gordon. She is preceded in death by her parents Gordon and Raye Mitchell, her brothers Gord and Charlie, and her youngest daughter Annalyn Replogle.

A funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Berg Mortuary,185 East Center Street in Provo, Utah. The viewing will begin at 1:00 PM. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery. All are welcome to attend in celebrating Melanee's life. The family would like to thank the compassionate and dedicated staff from Utah Home Health and Hospice for their efforts, love and service they rendered mom during her final chapter.
