Judy Jakeman (Hatch)

Phil was born November 6,1941. In high school he lettered in wrestling and pole vaulting. He passed away on June 12, of 2007. Phil was a skilled welder and craftsman and basically a jack of all trades. In his earlier years, after high school he worked in home construction with his brother, Jim Hatch. In the early 80's when the housing industry declined he started working for Goldfield International, as a welder/fabricator. He has three children from a previous marriage and added three more who loved him dearly from a second marriage. He endured 2 1/2 years of a disease called Myleodysplasia. He had many blood transfusions and treatments but continued to work and keep active until he was admitted into the hospital, after being diagnosed with Leukemia. He loved to ride four wheelers and in his early years built dune buggies which he raced for several years. He married a rival Orem girl, Judy, in 1982 and they were sealed in the Provo Temple. He was a kind and gentle man who attracted many friends throughout the years. His family misses him very much and looks forward to the time they can be together with him again.
