It is with great sadness that I must tell you that after 5 years of fighting cancer our Lord took Wendell to be with Him on February 9, 2009. During our almost 28 years together Wendell lived life to the fullest. He was a wonderful husband and was loved and respected by everyone who knew him. Margaret Draper

I am sorry to hear of Wendell's passing. He was a neighbor and a friend as we were growing up. I remember him, as a boy, always looking out for his brother Arthur. I have not seen him since high school, but I would bet that throughout his life he continued to look out for those who he thought needed his help. Please accept my condolences.

Wayne, Thank you. You are so right, Wendell looked after everyone he knew.Clyde Nielsen
Wendell Draper was a big part of my young life.....age 8-14... I lived in the 7th ward with the Draper family....I spent time in their home.........the early TV sets had no color, but I remember watching TV there on 3rd South with a transparent plastic color-shaded cover on the screen. I always though alot of Wendell, and he led the way as we all befriended Arthur.
We had lots of good scouting experiences together, Tom Giles cabin at Vivian Park and Pud Calder as our scoutmaster. A good bunch of boys and Wendell was right in the middle of it.

PS I remember Wendell's dad always embarassed Wendell by bearing his testimony too long every month in fast meeting. He took it well.
