Although listed as missing, I really was not lost at all. Unlike most of my classmates, I was slow to find my way. I married at 20 and began classes at BYU in 1962 where I earned both B.S. and M.S degrees. My little family then moved to Bozeman, MT, in 1970 where I completed a Ph.D. degree in Veterinary Science in 1975. From there we went to Urbana, IL, to do post-doctoral studies in the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois. In 1978 I took an assistant professor position with the College of Veterinary Medicine at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK. I taught Veterinary Parasitology, supervised parasitiology diagnostic services and conducted various research studies. I retired in 2005 to spend more time with my wife who passed away in 2008. On December 15, 2010 I married Patricia Granados and we were sealed in the Oklahoma City Temple in December 2013. We are living very happily in Stillwater, OK, and I now have a second family with 4 children living at home--the youngest is 8. A fifth returned from a mission in December 2013. I am too busy to grow old!!
I loved Provo as a youth, but I have also loved Oklahoma. Now I am more of a Cowboy than a Cougar: please forgive me for loving OSU more than BYU. After all, I have been hiding here for the last 32 years.
My children live in Tulsa, Provo and Houston and they are all very successful. My 2 boys have given me 6 granddaughters.
I became fully active in the Church at age 20 and then married my wife in the Idaho Falls Temple; I have been a faithful member of the Church since. Although I have served in 5 bishoprics and 1 branch presidency, I have never been a Bishop. I presently serve as an ordinance worker in the Oklahoma City Temple.
I have thought of many of you over the years, and each time I come to Provo I wonder who of my classmates are still in the area. I have never spoken to any of you since graduation in 1960. I look forward to seeing some of you in Provo in July.
